GI Joe Blackout

This custom was so simple, yet so fun to make! Using left over parts from my recent Snake Eyes custom, I created Cobra's sniper Blackout. I have always kinda liked the character ever since Spytroops, and when looking at Joes one day my boy really liked the character too (he is always an active part of my customs). I took some liberties with his design but I like the look and how poseable he is!

GI Joe Storm Shadow

This is my latest version of Storm Shadow more closely to how he appears in lots of comics. I feel this came out exactly how I wanted it to right from the start(something that doesn't often happen when trying to make customs) and I am very pleased with the proportions, and overall look of the figure.

GI Joe Snake Eyes and Timber

I wanted a look for Snake Eyes to be more as he appears in comics, and at the same time wanted to make a version of him that blends previous looks all together into one. I am very pleased with how Snake Eyes turned out and of course I hade to add Timber to go with him so I chose this mold for his trusty companion and re-painted him in greys. Lastly, I just had to get some pics of Snake Eyes together with my latest Storm Shadow custom as well as I am very pleased with these!

GI Joe Serpentor: Cobra Emperor

I have never been a fan of this character, but still had ideas floating around about him so I had to create the infamous Cobra Emperor. This project came together very well, and I feel overall he came out great. I added an alternate head that can be swapped out to give him a less human appearance as well.

GI Joe Storm Shadow

This is my latest incarnation of everyone's favorite bad guy in white Storm Shadow!
As with a lot of my other figures, I tried to roll the best from other versions of the character into one. This was very heavily inspired by Hisstank member Obi=Shinobi (a true master of all figures ninja related). I also included with this one a Slayer Designs SS sword that I have had lying around in the fodder bins for quite a while.

A preview of things to come...

I have always enjoyed Transformers more than any other genre of figures. However, I have always felt my skills in painting them to achieve the look I have wanted has never come to fruition. Lately, I have been doing a ton of experimenting with new ways of painting and with using enamels, washes, and clear coats.

Another thing I have always wrestled with is taking pictures of my work, constantly fighting lighting and such. I finally settled on going back to using outside pics, with a simple glossed over piece of magnet that I had leftover from another art job I was doing at the time. The reflection will show way better in future pics...

I am very happy with how my efforts are turning out and am excited to get this piece finished, but I wanted to also throw up a quick WIP pic as a preview of things to come.

Lastly, kudos to my boy for helping out so much with parts finding (I have a huge bin of TF's parts and preivously failed projects) pics, his keen eye for detail, and being patient with me while we work the proverbial bugs out...

As always, comments/critques welcome!

GI Joe Wild Weasel

While sorting through my parts bins, I noticed how many of this guy I actually had, and thought it was time to update him. I have always hated the lower arms on this build no matter what figure it was, so the first thing I did was find some that looked better to me. Using the Lift Ticket arms had a bonus as the joints are already red in color so that made things a ton easier too. After that I decided to go ahead and give him a functional knife, and using a PoC knife sheath fits very well after trimming out the molded ones.
